ROANOKE, Va.—
The Roanoke City Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint with the Roanoke County Police Department on Saturday, December 29th, between 11 p.m. and 2:15 a.m.
The checkpoint was held at the intersection of Williamson Road and Hildebrand Road.
Police issued 16 tickets and made one DUI arrest.
The following citations were written by the Roanoke Police Department:
Equipment violation - 1
Expired inspection - 2
Expired registration - 1
Failure to carry an operator's license - 1
No operator's license - 4
Revoked/suspended operator's license - 1
Other moving violations - 6
The Roanoke Police Department will conduct increased enforcement on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
