UPDATE: Arrest made in Roanoke murder

To Sojourner: Replying that I need to get out more often is ridiculous. I live in this neighborhood, as I stated previously, and I've lived here for 24 years, and I'm out in this neighborhood every day. When did you move out? Also, not all of the homes are being used for rental properties. In fact, the majority of homes are still owned and occupied by single families, like the majority of the homes on my street.

On Sunday mornings I see many church parking lots filled in my neighborhood, so I really don't know what you're talking about. I happen to attend a church outside of my neighborhood, so you should be also aware that many churchgoers do not attend a church in the neighborhood in which they live. Unfortunately, many of the churches in this area are liberal and I would rather attend a more conservative, bible-believing church. 

I would rather see this area revived rather than destroyed. I would hope you would feel the same, but when it comes down to it, you really don't care. It has been an uphill fight, and comments such as yours just add fuel to the fire. Since you lived here at one time, you are the one who needs to "get out more often". 

To Sojourner: You do not know anything about our neighborhood. I live in this neighborhood, and every one of my neighbors are hard-working and mostly church going families. This house was bought by an immigrant from India, by the last name of Patel, whom we cannot find an address for. He is obviously a slum lord, because the house is in a terrible state of disrepair. For the past ten years, he obviously just rents it out to whomever he can, and obviously does not do any background checks. We may get a petition together to have this "landlord" do something about this house, or he can give it up for sale.
