A multi-million dollar renovation has taken off at a Roanoke hub.

If you've been to the Roanoke Regional Airport lately, you may have noticed some changes.

The airport is in the middle of a 4-million dollar terminal improvement project.

Over the next few months the facility will be rehabbing its bathroom, gates and adding a technology bar so that travelers can charge their phones and computers.

It's all in an effort to better serve passengers.

"We often call this the new terminal. The building is about 25-years old now. It's hard to believe these are all original structures, it has served us well, but it's time to upgrade the infrastructure which is why we're doing the terminal project now," says spokesperson Sherry Wallace.

The airport says the renovations should be finished by July 2013.

The facility says it's paying for the project the old fashioned way- it saved its money, so there will no debt when the work is completed.
