The pastor of a Roanoke church is going to prison.

Reverend Joseph Mayo pled guilty to not paying more than a half million dollars in taxes and illegally taking a hundred thousand dollars in Social Security benefits.

He's pastor of Paradise Cathedral. Mayo will spend eight months in prison, but was placed in a medical facility because of diabetes and back problems.

Mayo and his wife have another federal case pending where two employees of a company he co-owned allege they were denied overtime benefits.
