Route 917 in Rockbridge County will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday for pipe replacement.
The work is being done about a half-mile south of Route 606 (Raphine Road). Drivers are asked to avoid the area, if possible.
A detour has been put in place: Route 606 (Raphine Road) to Route 613 (Ridge Road) to Route 917 (Oakland Circle). Truck traffic is not recommended on this detour.
The work is weather permitting. If weather becomes an issue, the rain dates are Feb. 13 and Feb. 20.
