The city of Salem is extra busy this weekend, thanks to Roanoke College graduates and their parents.

The stage and hundreds of chairs were already in place Friday morning on campus.

Area hotels are packed with folks.

Most of those reservations were made a year in advance.

Business owners on Main Street are loving the extra crowds and profits from families and friends of grads.

This is the second busiest weekend of the year next at Mac 'n Bob's Restaurant, that's next to Roanoke College's alumni weekend.

"After graduation we get very busy.  I think graduation is at 10 o'clock and after that about 2:00 or 3:00 they start rolling in," said Keith Griswold, general manager of Mac 'n Bob's Restaurant.

Most Salem residents are aware of Roanoke College's graduation weekend.

Some of them said they purposely steer clear of busy restaurants.
