Roanoke County, Va.—
The Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into a motorcycle crash that happened Saturday evening around 8:40 pm on Route 311 at the I 81 southbound ramp to exit 140 in Roanoke County.
Investigators say a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was southbound on Route 311 when the driver ran off the right side of the roadway and struck some concrete curbing which caused him to be thrown from the motorcycle.
The driver Roger Duncan , age 48, of Salem , Va. sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Duncan was charged with driving under the influence.
