1/13 6:00 a.m. Update:
The hiker was successfully pulled from the woods around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. He was taken to the hospital with some injuries but is expected to be okay.
In all, the search and rescue took about 12 hours.

10:55 p.m. Update:
We just got off the phone with Emergency Management Coordinator Robert Foresman. He says that crews are working their way down the mountain with the hiker.
It could still take several more hours before he is brought to safety.
Foresman says the hiker's condition has gotten worse, and that he's "more beat up than [rescuers] thought."

7:45 p.m. Update:
Rescue workers are in the process of lowering the hiker out of the Devil's Marbleyard area.
Rockbridge County Emergency Management Coordinator Robert Foresman said the hiker had apparently fallen and lost consciousness around 11:30 a.m.
By the time crews got to him, he had regained consciousness and was complaining of chest pains.
Foresman says Devil's Marbleyard has many steep cliffs and is very dangerous. It could take another few hours for crews to get the hiker out of the area.

3:45 p.m. Update:
Robert Foresman, emergency management coordinator for Rockbridge County says the hiker has been found.
His rescue is underway right now.

Right now, the search is on for a missing hiker in Rockbridge County.
Emergency management officials say the 26 year old was hiking with some friends along the Devils Marbleyard trail. His friends say one minute he was there; the next minute, he wasn't.
We're told the hiker has a history of cardiac problems.
