The Shamrock Festival drew about 2,300 volleyball players and 6,000 spectators. |
ROANOKE, Va.—
There was very little snow to dig out today but a lot of it was going on indoors throughout the weekend. The 12th annual Shamrock Festival in Roanoke hosted 2,300 volleyball players.
It's a tournament that drew players from as far away as Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
It took place in 11 different spots around the Roanoke Valley.
It's also a nice "spike" for area businesses as the 228 teams were expected to draw 6,000 spectators.
Play began Friday and wrapped up on Sunday.
