There's not many people throwing money at non-profits. But a Danville man is and he wants you to decide which group needs it the most.
Scott Brooks owns several local magazines in Central and Southern Virginia. He won $50,000 from a Microsoft essay competition.
Brooks wrote about the economic distress in Danville and the technology needs of non-profits in the area.
He wants to give a portion of his prize money to one of 11 organizations for a computer lab.
"Scott BrooksMagazine Owner: We're in a tough economy so donations are down for all these nonprofits but their services that they have to provide have gone up so they're having to do more work and more services with less money."
On the Showcase Magazine facebook page, you can read essays from nonprofits and pick which one you think is most deserving of the money.
Voting ends next Wednesday.
