Sportsmen's Act fails in the Senate

Unwelcomed news for hunters and lovers of the outdoors.

The Sportsmen's Act of 2012 stumbled Monday afternoon in the Senate.

It would've given hunters and sportsmen more recreational access to federal land and conserve wildlife habitat.

Virginia Senator Mark Warner co-sponsored the bill. But it failed to pass over a budget dispute about how to count a proposed $10 increase for duck stamps to pay for wetlands conservation.
