StarTek announced Monday it's laying off 69 employees at its facility on Lakeside Drive in Lynchburg.
According to a news release, "The layoff is due to a client's decision to move a line of business from the facility."
“The decision to move the line of business was made by our client, and was not based on our performance but a change in business strategy,” said Chad Carlson, COO of StarTek. “They will continue to work with StarTek and remain a valued client.”
StarTek currently employs about 219 people at the Lynchburg facility.

Lynchburg, VA--StarTek (NYSE: SRT) announced today a 60 day notice of a layoff to 69 employees at its facility 801 Lakeside Drive. The layoff is due to a client’s decision to move a line of business from the facility. StarTek currently employs approximately 219 people at the Lynchburg facility.

StarTek will provide job hunting skills assistance to those affected by the change. The employees are also welcome to apply to other StarTek locations.
