The House approved the proposal yesterday.
The Washington Examiner reports it keep seventh and eigth grade students from using calculators on Standards of Learning tests.
It would also require fourth, fifth and sixth grade SOL tests to have a number of math problems students have to solve without a calculator.
This is the kind or supervision that we don't need coming from Richmond!
Calculators have been both a blessing and a curse; a two-edged sword, so to speak.
As Bill Clinton's last official duty, he made calculators obsolete when any government action was required. That executive decision has been in full force for the past 12+ years and you can see just how well it has worked. Attempts to restore its acceptance have been met with scorn and actual riots among the many politicians incapable of understanding the "on" button.
