Students at one Bedford County high school enjoyed a free concert Tuesday, thanks to help from their rivals.

"Love and Theft" put on a show for students at Staunton River High School Tuesday afternoon.

94.9 Star Country organized the event as part of a contest. Students had to text the radio station last fall to help their school win.

When Staunton River lost three students in car accidents last year, teens at nearby Lord Botetourt and James River High Schools voted to help their rival win the concert.

Star Country offers concerts to schools every year as part of its "Toy Mountain" campaign.

Along with sending the most text messages, students also collected toys for needy children in the Roanoke Valley.
