ROANOKE, Va.—
Local brides didn't let mother nature get in their way of walking down the aisle Saturday.A lot of local brides woke up Saturday morning, worried about how this power disaster was going to affect their big day.
As you can imagine, a lot of local hair salons are in the dark today. But, Zee's Salon and Day Spa in Roanoke opened up its doors to hairdressers from three other local salons to make sure their brides got the special treatment they deserved.
"We're just thrilled that we can take care of these brides today, because wouldn't it be so disappointing if these brides couldn't have their day and be looking beautiful?" said Zee Ritter, owner of Zee Salon and Day Spa.
One mother of the bride we spoke with said her daughter had to change her wedding venue at the last minute this morning. "We were concerned whether the church would have power, which it doesn't," said Sandra Schjonning. She said the hotel they were staying overnight had power. "The hotel stepped up and has allowed us to actually have the wedding at the hotel," Schjonning said. "They're setting up a room just for us."
