Republican Jerry Grubb announced his campaign for the State Senate Monday night in Chatham |
The race to replace Robert Hurt in the General Assembly will bring a short campaign, but with five Republicans now vying for the GOP nomination there is no shortage of interest in his Senate seat.
Monday night in Chatham, Jerry Grubb added his name to the growing list of GOP candidates who will face off in a firehouse primary November 23rd. Grubb said he brings business experience and a commitment to creating jobs.
'We need jobs in southside," Grubb told News 7 after his announcement. "All the other problems we have have to take a back seat to getting jobs, because we have people who have been suffering a long time. They've paid their dues. They've suffered. It's time to get them working."
Grubb is real estate appraiser, and a resident of Pittsylvania County.
