An RV caught fire along Interstate 81 Saturday, stranding two people from Vermont and backing up traffic for hours.

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue tells News7 the RV caught fire around 1:30 p.m. near mile marker 143. That's where I-581 and I-81 meet.

A man, woman and their dog were on the way to Georgia from Vermont when the motor home caught fire.

The fire was caused by a flat tire that wrapped around an axle.
