If you're a parent, you spend quite a bit of time looking for ways to keep your kids entertained. Searching the Web and hunting through the newspaper is time consuming.  But now, there is one-stopping shopping on-line that can make that search to fill the family calendar much easier.

This week's Early Years segment focuses on Roanokemacaronikid.com. It is part of a national Web site geared specifically toward families and family-friendly events. There is also a free newsletter that is sent out to subscribers once a week.

It not only helps parents quickly figure out where to take the kids each weekend, it also offers  articles on topics of interest to parents. For example, this week there's an article about how to "read" your child's cough.

The calendar of events extends all the way to December, and lists events like Breakfast with Santa and Dickens of a Christmas . So, families can plan their schedule for the rest of the year, and even register to win free tickets to shows like "Sesame Street Live."
