Roanokers remember it less-than fondly for its Day-glow Orange exterior in the 1980's.  Now it's sporting a brick-red color, part of the process of reclaiming the 80 to 90-year old structure for use by a global software company based in Roanoke.

Breakell Contractors says it will have the four-story structure ready for occupancy by the end of October. Meridium is currently housed in the Wachovia Tower. It will take over all four floors at 207 Bullitt Avenue

Breakell plans to add some new-age features...glass enclosed exterior stairwells and a dome on the roof...to make the brick structure stand out as motorists pass by within 100 yards on I-581.
