Vinton police say autopsies confirm Kim Drew was shot by her estranged husband Tim.  Tim then died of a self-inflicted gunshot.  Town police released that information Friday morning.

According to Vinton Police, "The two bodies found in the residence have still not been positively identified, but are believed to be that of Timothy Drew, 42 and his estranged wife Kimberly Drew, 44. Both are being taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.  Preliminary indications are that both deceased have sustained gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide, but the exact manner and cause of death will have to be determined by the Medical Examiner.  More information will be released as available."

Two people were found dead inside a home in the 1000 block of Halliahurst Avenue in Vinton around 8 a.m. Thursday. 

Police have not released any names. 

Kim and Tim Drew are the owners of the Vinton home where the bodies were found.  Kim Drew's attorney confirmed that information but said police have not told him any more.

Vinton police closed off a section of Halliahurst Avenue Thursday morning.  Yellow tape blocked the road and police cars lined the street.

Officers have not returned calls asking for more information.
