While many students are spending their summer break relaxing, others are hard at work repairing homes in Roanoke.
They're part of World Changers, a faith-based missions group. And get this: Each students pays $249 to participate.
The group is working on more than 20 homes this week. The projects include everything from roofing repairs and painting to building handicap ramps.
"It makes me feel good. It's like, I'm doing a service to the community and to God. It just makes me feel good. It makes me feel good about myself," said Boyd Blackmon.
The students sleep on air mattresses and cots at Stonewall Jackson Middle School. Area churches provide their meals.
