Fire crews are busy battling a 600 acre brush fire just South of the Virginia border in Lowgap, North Carolina. That's in Surry County.
It's been burning since Monday. Firefighters have been on the scene there since 4:00 p.m. that day.
Lowgap Deputy Fire Chief Ricky Casstevens tells News7 the fire is now about 90 percent contained. Firefighters are still working to finish the containment, and they're hoping it will die down.
Crews are still providing structural protection for nearby homes, but none are in immediate danger. More than 100 firefighters were on the scene on Monday.
The area burning is heavily wooded.
