A Roanoke teenager has been charged with stealing money from a victim’s home, and is also a suspect in the armed robbery of a business.
Police believe 18-year-old Cody Thurman walked into Payday Title Loan in the 2300 block of Orange Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday and pulled out a gun and demanded money. Thurman was given an undisclosed amount of money, police say.
After officers established a perimeter of the area, they got word of a second robbery – this time inside of a home.
The victim told investigators that a man entered her home, fired a gun, and took money.
Going off suspect descriptions, officers eventually tracked Thurman down to the 1500 block of 22nd Street, and arrested him.
He has been charged with the residential robbery. Charges are pending in the armed robbery of Payday Title Loan.
