Two lawsuits filed over the 2007 mass shootings at Virginia Tech are headed for trial after talks between the state and the plaintiffs didn't produce a settlement.
Special Justice William Alexander had urged the parties to settle out of court and talks were held Friday.
Virginia Tech spokesman Larry Hinckler tells The Roanoke Times that everyone tried but they didn't resolve
the issues.
A jury trial is set to begin March 5 in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
The $10 million lawsuits were filed by the families of two students who were killed. The state is the only remaining defendant.
