The Ten Commandments are still up at Narrows High School despite a lawsuit over it.
According to Superintendent Terry Arbogast, it is the only Giles County school that has the Ten Commandments on display along with other documents like the Magna Carta and the Mayflower Compact.
The American Civil Liberties Union filed suit against Giles County Schools on Tuesday on behalf of a student from Narrows High.
That family won't be identified.
The ACLU says the displays are unconstitutional because they promote a specific religious faith but does not serve a secular purpose.
The lawsuit seeks to have the Ten Commandments taken down.
Arbogast deferred all other comments to Liberty Counsel, which will represent the school system.
