IMAGES: Rain/snow timing and amounts
A low pressure system will move across the area and phase with cold air coming from the north. The result will be a mix of snow/sleet changing to rain through the New River Valley, Roanoke Valley. Mainly snow can be expected across the Highlands. Mainly rain expected in Southside and Central Virginia towards Lynchburg and Danville. Amounts will be light, but may cause some travel problems Thursday night into Friday morning.
