Got too much candy from Halloween night?

Dentists say give it away.

Kool Smiles dentistry in Danville and Christiansburg is collecting unwanted or extra candy for the troops overseas.

It's part of Operation Gratitude.

For every 25 pieces of candy a kid brings in, they'll get a toy.

Staff says it's pretty easy to get kids to give it all up.

"You know, sugar in moderation is fine just not all the sugar that you can absolutely have and pretty much kids after today they're like, I don't want any more sugar for a while and they can go, oh I can have a toy other than the sugar, absolutely," said Sherry Cockman, a manager at Kool Smiles

In addition to promoting good dental hygiene, Kool Smiles is donating tooth brushes, toothpaste and covering dental surgery costs for troops who are part of Operation Gratitude.
