Touch A Truck Day

If you love trucks, both big and small, Roanoke County's Green Hill Park was the place to be today.   Kids of all ages, and the young at heart, enjoyed all kinds of trucks during the annual "Touch-a-truck" event.

One of the most popular was a utility truck. A worker took kids to new heights and created lasting memories for sure. This event is the largest of its type in the nation.

Spectator Lisa Welch really enjoyed the event. “We've seen all kinds of neat things that the kids really enjoyed climbing in,  taking pictures and honking the horn,” she said.

9-year-old Naliyah Moyer echoed those sentiments. “It was just really fun looking at all the trucks and seeing how they work and I'm really psyched about it,” she said enthusiastically.

The event also included military vehicles so youngsters could learn about the armed forces. Also, your hometown news leader WDBJ-7 brought our satellite truck to the event so we could meet members of the community and show them what happened behind-the-scenes in the TV news business.
