All lanes of I81 near the Wildwood Road exit are back open.

All traffic headed south on Interstate 81 at the Wildwood Road exit in Roanoke County has to get off the freeway because of a fiery and deadly wreck. It happened around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday. Traffic was already backed up because of a detour at the Dixie Caverns exit. State Police say the truck driver didn't slow down enough when coming up on the back up. While trying to get over into the right lane he hit a car, knocking it off the road. His truck then rear-ended another 18-wheeler and caught fire. The truck driver died. No one else was hurt.

A tractor trailer accident is blocking both southbound lanes of Interstate 81 at mile marker 135 in Roanoke County.
A detour has been put in place at exit 137.
Cars can get back on I-81 at exit 118 in Blacksburg.
There's no word on how long the detour will be in place.
