BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va.—
A routine traffic stop for the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office turned into a big bust Thursday.Officers seized 300 bags of heroin and charged two suspects in connection to a series of break-ins in the Botetourt County area. The heroin had an estimated street value of $6,000.
A total of three people were arrested. Charged after the traffic stop on Interstate 81 near Exit 167 are 30-year-old Misty Evans of Troutville, 39-year-old Antonio Marchese of Roanoke, and 44-year-old Jonathan McNeill of Roanoke.
All three of them have been charged with possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to distribute.
Charges against Evans and Marchese will be presented to a grand jury Monday in connection to the break-ins. Investigators believe they are responsible for break-ins Country Club Road, Blacksburg Road, Lees Gap Road, Little Catawba Creek Road, and Grove Hill Road in the area west of Fincastle.
Jewelry, guns, and electronics were among the items stolen.
