Interstate 81 North is back open after a tractor-trailer hauling turkeys crashed Tuesday morning.
The accident shut down I-81 North near Buchanan for nearly six hours.
The driver was charged with reckless driving.

A tractor-trailer driver who crashed Tuesday while hauling turkeys on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County has been charged with reckless driving.
The northbound lanes near Buchanan are still closed from the accident.
The accident happened around 5:20 a.m. near mile marker 167 when the driver went off the road and hit a guardrail. Mile marker 167 is about a mile south of the Arcadia exit (Exit 168).
The driver was not hurt. He was wearing a seat belt.

Update: WDBJ7 Photojournalist Trevor Fair says crews are trying to round up loose turkeys with nets along the Interstate 81 in Botetourt County, near Buchanan.
Both northbound lanes near mile marker 167 are closed.
Traffic is being detoured off I-81 North onto Route 11 at Exit 162 (Buchanan), and back onto the interstate at Exit 168 (Arcadia).
It's not clear when the interstate will re-open.
Traffic is backed up about two miles.

Update: State police say a wrecker is at the site of the crash working to get the truck out of the way.

We're following a traffic alert out of Botetourt County on Interstate 81 in the Buchanan area.
A tractor trailer truck carrying turkeys rolled over there around 5:30 Tuesday morning.
The driver is ok.
The wreck happened on the northbound side about a mile south of the Arcadia exit, but both northbound lanes are closed starting at Exit 162.
There is a detour around the lane closures.
The detour takes you through off Interstate 81 at the Buchanan Exit.You'll drive through Buchanan and back to Interstate 81 just north of where the accident happened.
