Two Bassett men indicted for their role in 2010 murder

Two Bassett men have been indicted by a Henry County grand jury for their role in a 2010 murder.

Lamont "BG" Miller was found in a shallow grave behind 110 Penrose Drive in Bassett on November 17, 2010.

39-year-old Patrick Antonio Gilbert and 23-year-old Lavest Michael Whisenton were indicted on felony charges of conspiracy to commit murder and concealment of evidence. They are both being held without bond.

Police are still looking for more information about Miller's murder.

On November 17, 2010, investigators with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office discovered the body of Jason Lamont “BG” Miller in a shallow grave in a wooded area behind 110 Penrose Drive Bassett, VA.  Patrick Antonio Gilbert was subsequently arrested and charged with the death of Miller.
          
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to interview individuals having information pertaining to the death of Miller.  On May 2, 2012, as a result of the efforts of a Special Grand Jury and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Patrick Antonio Gilbert, 39, of 3187 Bassett Heights Extention Bassett, VA and Lavest Michael Whisenton, 23, of 90 Stevens Drive Bassett, VA were each charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder (Felony) and Concealment of Evidence (Felony) and jailed without bond.  The investigation in ongoing.
