Neighbors in one hometown aren't happy to hear who may be moving in next door.
A Martinsville developer is planning to build a Dollar General near a quiet community.
People who live nearby say council is going back on its word after mentioning in the city's comprehensive plan to keep that section of the city scenic.
The land now zoned for professional use has the city's vote to be commercial.
Council members say they're willing to close a small road, add a traffic light and fence to make the area safer but neighbors who live right behind the property aren't buying it.
"To rezone this piece of land for the needs of one particular land owner and ignoring the needs of not only the comprehensive land use plan but the desires of all the residents it just seems to be incongruent with forward thinking," said Kevin Lewis who live downhill and immediately behind the land.
Lewis says he will move if the city votes to change the zoning next month.
