MONTGOMERY CO., Va—
There will be detours on Interstate 81 South in Montgomery County on Monday night as crews continue work on a truck climbing lane.
Starting at 9 p.m. Monday, traffic on I-81 South will be detoured at Exit 132 (Dixie Caverns), on to Route 460, and back onto I-81 at Exit 118 (Christiansburg).
The detours will be in place from 9 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Crews are working to remove the bridge on Route 636 (Friendship Road). The work is part of a truck climbing lane being built between mile markers 120 and 125 in Montgomery County. The project is expected to be finished in November.
