ROANOKE, Va.—
Downtown Roanoke was awash in red, white and blue as thousands crowded the streets for the annual Veterans Day parade. There were marching bands, military vehicles and veterans thankful to be appreciated by so many. We spoke with a woman whose daughter is a member of a marching band.
We spoke with Lacresha Everette who was so proud to watch her daughter perform in a marching band. She wants her to follow in her footsteps by serving in the military.
Charles Bishop served in the army from 1955-1958. Among other places, he spent time stationed in Korea. Bishop says it’s great that people honor our country, our flag and the men and women in uniform.
