Virgil Goode is preparing for another campaign. The former 5th District Congressman is running for President.

Goode has filed with the Federal Election Commission to organize the Virgil Goode for President Campaign Committee. Friday afternoon, Goode told WDBJ7 he plans to seek the nomination of the Constitution Party at its convention in April.

"I hope to get the Constitution Party nomination and go forward from there," Goode said, "and then focus on some issues that I think really need some focusing on: balancing the budget now, not five years, not ten years down the road, but doing so now."

Goode says he will not accept contributions from political action committees or other special interests. He said he is looking for local volunteers, and will limit his fundraising to individual contributions between two and 200 dollars.
