Virgil Goode is preparing for another campaign. The former 5th District Congressman is running for President.
Goode has filed with the Federal Election Commission to organize the Virgil Goode for President Campaign Committee. Friday afternoon, Goode told WDBJ7 he plans to seek the nomination of the Constitution Party at its convention in April.
"I hope to get the Constitution Party nomination and go forward from there," Goode said, "and then focus on some issues that I think really need some focusing on: balancing the budget now, not five years, not ten years down the road, but doing so now."
Goode says he will not accept contributions from political action committees or other special interests. He said he is looking for local volunteers, and will limit his fundraising to individual contributions between two and 200 dollars.

I was born and raised in Richmond, VIRGINIA, which is part of that geographical area of the USA commonly referred to as The South. I was raised by people who spoke proper English. Does your idea of a "dialect" include such poor English as "That's how US Southerners talk." It's WE Southerners. That's not about dialects, it's about butchering a language. THAT'S HOW US TALK? That wouldn't sound right, now would it? Putting in "Southerners" does not magically make it grammatically correct, nor does it make it a dialect. It makes it badly written English.
It's sad that you are so prejudiced that you assume that a person who can speak English must not be from around here! I never stated I "had a problem/issue" with his accent. I said that I found his pronunciation of the word Mohammed to be funny. It is. It's VERY funny. That's probably why someone posted it to Youtube.
Since you wrote "Have you ever stopped to realize just how weird or strange a Northern accent may sound to a Southerner?" I also have to repond by asking if YOU know how weird and strange some Southern accents sound to fellow SOUTHERNERS.....especially the ones who were taught proper English?
Wonder what his agenda is, you should be asking what agenda that freak that sits and lies daily in the White House has. The man could not tell the truth if he had to. At least we all know he is a con man.
Well, Virgil's been a Democrat, a Republican, an Independent, and now seeks the Constitution Party nomination. I like what he stands for today, but the way the flip flops around, who knows what his agenda will be tomorrow?
