The estate of a famous Virginia author will be auctioned off Friday.

Mary Johnston wrote "To Have and To Hold" in the early 1900's and it went on to become a best seller.

Shortly after, she built her mansion in Warm Springs.

It's been an inn since 1917, but after Friday it will have a new owner.

The auction starts at 11:00 a.m. at the property which is just a few miles from the Homestead Hotel.

Johnston's home is 12,500 square feet. It has 14 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms.
