More than 700 names will be engraved on a Virginia memorial honoring public safety workers killed in the line of the duty.
The Virginia Public Safety Foundation announced the initial roster of 765 names Monday.
The foundation says the roster of names is likely to grow in the coming months. Some recent deaths are still being reviewed and additional historic cases could be found.
The Commonwealth Public Safety Memorial will be built at Capitol Square in Richmond. The foundation says it has raised $800,000 of its $2 million goal for the memorial's construction.
