RICHMOND, Va. (AP) --
The final shape of Virginia's budget is now officially in the hands of senior legislators.
A dozen senators and a dozen House members will huddle privately for the next few days in legislative office suites on Capitol Square reconciling differences between House and Senate versions of the budget.
The widest differences center on public schools, health care funding and transportation.
The Senate removed additional money for care of intellectually and developmentally disabled people in settings near their homes, and the House wants it restored.
The Senate added tens of millions for public education from mortgage settlement proceeds, added $300 million for the Dulles Airport rail expansion and to abate tunnel tolls in Hampton Roads that the House didn't support.
Talks will continue through the weekend.
