UPDATED: Two more people arrested for Blacksburg armed robbery

UPDATED 3:35 p.m. Tuesday: Two more people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery in Blacksburg on February 1.

27-year-old Christina Lewis and 30-year-old Matthew McKinney, both have been arrested.

Both have been charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Blacksburg Police have also obtained warrants for Brandon Collins.

Investigators believe Collins lives in Radford.

Tira Sada Ciearia Lewis, 25, was arrested Feb. 2.

On February 3, 2012, Blacksburg Police arrested a second suspect during the course of an ongoing investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on February 1, 2012. (See original press release below). Christina Yvonne Lewis, a 27 year old female resident of Roanoke was arrested at the Blacksburg Police Department and charged with one count each of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. Lewis was incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail with no bond.

On February 7, 2012 a third arrest was made when Matthew Jason McKinney, age 30 and a resident of Roanoke, was arrested by Roanoke City Police on warrants obtained by Blacksburg Police. McKinney is charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. He is incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail with no bond.

A fourth suspect has been identified. Blacksburg Police currently hold felony warrants for Brandon M. Collins charging him with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony. Collins is a 27 year old black male, 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 175 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. Collins is believed to be a Radford, VA resident with ties to the Blacksburg and Roanoke areas. Collins should be considered armed and dangerous.

A Roanoke woman has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Blacksburg.

Tira Sada Ciearia Lewis, 25, has been charged.

The incident happened around 10:50 p.m. Wednesday night in the Nellie's Cave Road area in the Town of Blacksburg.

The victim says he was approached by several men and at least one women who had hand guns.

The victim sustained facial injuries, and was treated and released at a local hospital.

On February 1, 2012, Blacksburg Police responded to Montgomery Regional Hospital at approximately 10:50pm in reference to a patient reporting injuries sustained during an armed robbery. According to the victim, the incident occurred in the Nellie’s Cave Road area in the Town of Blacksburg when the victim, a male, and his two female friends were approached by several black males and at least one black female, who were armed with handguns, and who robbed the victims of cash and a purse. The male victim attempted to resist and sustained a facial injury. He transported himself to Montgomery Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

On February 2 at approximately 9:30 am, Detectives identified Tira Sada Ciearia Lewis as a suspect in the incident and arrested the 25 year old Roanoke resident. Lewis is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.

The investigation into the incident continues, with police attempting to identify other suspects. Descriptions are limited to black males wearing dark clothing.
