ROANOKE, Va.—
Every new baby needs a name, and the same can be said of animals.Mill Mountain Zoo is joining forces with WDBJ7 to hold a contest to name the baby red panda.
He was born in June, and this spring will be moving to his new home at an Iowa zoo.
Before he goes, Mill Mountain wants to give him a name and that's where you come in.
One lucky viewer's submission will be chosen and before you begin it's important to hear a little about these pandas personalities.
"I think these animals are very naturally curious," said Ray Correia, the zoo's executive director. "They have a lovely expression. They're very happy looking creatures so they are sort of whimsical. They're kinda of creative, curious."
The contest began Monday and runs until Friday, February 24.
