Just a few days after Hostess announced it was filing for bankruptcy, people are bidding on boxes of Twinkies from eBay to Craigslist.
A few “buy it now” options are close to $8,000.
Either way it was a big blow to the American brand.
After debt and management issues, Hostess decided not to go through chapter 11 bankruptcy, putting 18,000 people out of work.
Hostess will be in a New York City courtroom today, beginning the sell of its assets.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, some believe another snack company could snap up the Twinkies brand.
So far this year, Twinkie sales have topped $68 million.
