Taiwan outsmarts dolphin and whale poachers

The Taiwanese government announced plans to use <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HHA000078" title="DNA" href="/topic/health/human-body/dna-HHA000078.topic">DNA</a> evidence against suspected dolphin and whale poachers on Monday, Feb. 1. Poaching all species of dolphins and whales is illegal in Taiwan. Experts can use molecular biotechnology to identify dolphin or whale DNA, even in a scrap of meat.
