1992 -- Barb Schmidt scored 20 points and Julie Jensen added 17 points as Northern State defeated Tarleton State of Texas 73-56 in the championship game of the NAIA Division II national women's basketball tournament.

1997 -- Eric Williams scored 25 points as the Boston Celtics snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 126-117 National Basketball Association victory over Milwaukee, sending the Bucks to their 11th loss in 13 games.

2002 -- Amy Albrecht scored a goal in the first period with an assist from Kristen Dosch and the Aberdeen defense made it hold up as the Cougars defeated Sioux Falls 1-0 in the seventh-place game at the state high school girls' hockey tournament.

2007 -- Megan Vogel tossed in 23 points to help South Dakota State to a 61-48 victory over Illinois State in the second round of the women's National Invitational Tournament. The win was the first ever post-season triumph for SDSU (24-5) in Division I play.

2011 -- Tate Senftner's 20 points led four Chargers in double figures as eighth-seeded Sully Buttes upset top-seeded and unbeaten Hitchcock-Tulare 61-54 in the opening round of the State B high school basketball tournament at Wachs Arena. Jordan Lamb added 15 points for Sully Buttes, Mitchell Foth had 12, and Jalen Lamb contributed 10.
