BLACKSBURG, Va. -

Former Virginia Tech standout and James River alum, Angela Tincher O'Brien joined the Hokie softball club as their pitching coach Tuesday.

She was the national player of the year in 2008 and A former USA Softball Player of the Year, a three-time All-American and a three-time ACC Player of the Year.

Tincher led VT to a defeat of Team USA in 2008 and the College World Series in what was her senior season.

She also led the nation in strikeouts in her senior year with 14 solo no-hitters that include two perfect games in 2008.

Her duties start on September 2nd.
