SALEM, Va. -

Billy Sample stands outside the Carmike Salem Valley 8 theater dressed in a baseball jersey and hat.

It's the uniform from his new movie, "Reunion 108."

Sample spent nine years in the major leagues. Now the 1973 Andrew Lewis high school graduate is taking his talents to the big screen.

Reunion 108 is now showing at the Carmike Salem Valley 8 theater.

The movie is about professional baseball players that return for a reunion game at one of their minor league stops.

Sample wrote the screen play for the movie that he also helped direct and star in.

He first took the film out in 2011 at the Hoboken Film Festival where it took top honors.
