Dan River rode its speed and athleticism all the way to the post-season last year.
The Wildcats couldn't close the deal falling to Buckingham County. Coach Ferrell Edmunds returns 11 starters in Ringgold.

"If you keep everybody healthy going into the season and going into each game you give yourself a chance. Towards the end of the season you start having more and more injuries. I know going in we've got a lot of speed. So if we can utilize our speed and do a lot of positive things, I think it'd be good for us,” Edmunds said.

One of those speed guys is Tremaine Edmunds. The next in a long line of Edmunds' from Dan River.

He's committed to Virginia Tech and should provide some leadership with his senior classmates. Coach Edmunds is making some offensive changes while evaluating - mixing some wing T with the I formation.

“At this point right here it's all about evaluation. Seeing how a kid responds to good plays, bad plays, and you know learning about your kids. That's what football is all about - learning about what kind of talent you’ve got, and we've got some seniors that are real solid that are going to lead this team hopefully through the state this year,” Edmunds said.
