BLACKSBURG, Va. -

In the ACC this year-- all the hype has centered around Duke Freshman Jabari Parker or Syracuse's CJ Fair.

But there's a guy in Blacksburg who's lighting it up.

Jarell Eddie is averaging over 19 points and seven rebounds per contest this year as Virginia Tech is off to a 7-3 start 1-0 in the ACC.

"I'm shooting the ball with more confidence," said Virginia Tech Forward Jarell Eddie. "More confident in my teammates in what we're doing out there in our offensive and defensive execution."

Eddie is fourth in the conference in scoring and tenth in rebounding.

In the win over Miami, the senior hit the game tying shot and eventually the game winner.

"I think Jarell is one of the best players in the ACC," said Head Coach James Johnson. "But he's able to rebound the basketball and he's getting better defensively."
