There is a certain amount of respect that Mike London's current coaching staff has for UVA's opponent this weekend, VMI.
While the obvious reason would be London's history at FCS Richmond, the Virginia head coach's appreciation for the team on the opposite side of Scott Stadium Saturday is much more extensive than that.
"I am a product of West Point. I was born at West Point Academy. Places that I have been when we have played Navy and Army. You have a tremendous amount of respect for the guys that play at those particular schools. They go off and they go fight the wars and put themselves in harms way. So there is a tremendous amount of respect for a young man that does that, that gets training to defend this country and gets training for Saturdays to play in games. So you know they are not going to quit because that is who they are, that is what they are," said London.
