There's only a couple more days left in August which can only mean that college football is right around the corner.
Virginia opens the season Saturday at home against Richmond, as the Mike London era gets underway against a familiar foe.
Two years ago, Mike London was the head coach at Richmond when they came to Charlottesville to take on the Cavaliers. The Spiders lost that game 16 to 0, but went on to win a national championship. Now London is on the other sideline as looks at lead the Cavaliers back to prominence.
"Everyone wants to do well. No one wants to do poorly. But we're gonna have to play much better than we have in the past if we want to give ourselves a chance to win. That's what camp has been about and that's what this week's about. I wouldn't be human if I sat here and said this is just another game. It's not another game. That's my alma mater. I spent years there as a coach, as a player, and I won championships with that team. But as things happen sometimes, opportunities and doors open that you take the most of an opportunity and now I'm here wearing the Orange and Blue," said London.
This will be the 30th meeting all time between the Spiders and Cavaliers.
